UNREAL
I wasn't really thrilled about the idea of a long, exhausting hike, but I knew it was something I wanted to do as soon as I decided to visit Tassie.
My travel companions were so proud of me for accomplishing it, which was surprising to everyone, including myself.
The hike was supposed to take 3-4 hours, but it ended up taking me 7 hours as I had to take many breaks to catch my breath and have some alone time. My lips were burning, and my legs felt like they were giving up on me. However, reaching the top made it all worth it. I also realised that the journey back down wasn't going to be simple. I had to prepare for the loneliness on the way back, as my friends weren't moving at the same pace as I was.
I felt a mix of emotions – good, lonely, and drained– knowing that I had made and completed this challenging trek. I realised that perhaps, in the future, nothing else may amaze me the way this initial hike did. However, I also know that life has many surprises in store for us. I need to be prepared for the worst and best scenarios.
Be ready for anything, girl!
